Let me introduce myself.
I represent what is the new Region 10, that covers 29 countries in Europe.
I have humbly submitted my name and resume to the International Leadership Committee (ILC) for nomination as International Director Candidate, Region 10.
I have had the honor to serve Toastmasters International in many capacities. Like you, I have served at both the Club and District levels. I say “honor” because it truly has been. I have met so many wonderful people and have worked with numerous great leaders – both accomplished leaders and up-and-coming ones. Through Toastmasters, I have learned how to be a better team player and how to lead teams more effectively and successfully than I had in my profession. Toastmasters has helped me a great deal.
I am excited about the many Reformations going on in our Toastmasters world as well as the reorganization of the Regions across the world. We are growing as a Global organization. Every day, more and more people benefit from our Programs.
My own District and Region are presently being reformed.
When I was District Director District – 95, the District team and I were responsible for Clubs across 15 countries, speaking in 15 languages. The District stretched from the Nordic Countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark), to Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Ukraine.
District 95 has been very unique in the Toastmasters International global family. It really has been an honor.
As many of you are aware, Europe’s 2 districts – Districts 59 and 95 – are reforming, becoming 6 new districts as of July 1, 2018. Our combined leadership has been preparing for this massive reformation and training new leaders for the past 5 years.
When I joined Toastmasters, Europe had only two districts 71: UK, Ireland and Scotland and prospective district 59P: Continental Europe. When District 59 entered the transformation year before reforming, I was LGM and we saw an extraordinary growth in our district. When I was Lieutenant Governor Education and Training of the newly formed District 95, I foresaw the growth pattern and suggested a joint reformation committee with District 59 to District 95 trio for creating five districts in Continental Europe. The proposal was approved by both District Governors 59 and 95 who started the process of the reformation with Toastmasters International. As District Director, I worked closely with District 59 Director and Reformation Committee Chair.
We will eventually become six districts on July 1st 2018.
